The role of the cable branch box

The cable branch box is only used as a cable branch. The main function of the cable branch box is to branch or switch the cable. It mainly plays the role of cable branching and cable switching.

With the development of the cable distribution network, when the independent load distribution of small capacity is concentrated, the cable branch box can be used to connect the cable multi-branch, because the branch box cannot directly operate on each channel.

1) Cable tapping function. There are multiple small-area cables on a relatively long line, which will often cause waste of cable use. Therefore, from the outlet to the electrical load, the main trunk cable is often used for outlet, and then when the load is close to the load, use the cable branch box to connect the trunk The cable is divided into several small-area cables, and the small-area cables are connected to the load. Such a wiring method is widely used for power supply such as street lights in urban power grids, and power supply for small users.

2) Cable transfer function. On a relatively long line, the length of the cable cannot meet the requirements of the line, then a cable connector or a cable adapter box must be used. Generally, a cable intermediate connector is used for short distances, but when the line is relatively long, it is more than 1000m according to experience If there are multiple intermediate connectors in the middle of the cable, in order to ensure safety, the cable branch box will be considered for transfer.
Cable branch boxes are widely used outdoors. With the advancement of technology, cable branch boxes with switches are now increasing. Urban cables often use double-loop power supply, so some people directly call branch boxes with switches as outdoor ring nets. However, most of the current ring network cabinets cannot achieve distribution automation. However, manufacturers have already introduced outdoor ring network cabinets that can be used for distribution network automation. This has also blurred the boundaries between cable branch boxes and ring network cabinets.
